Premium Restaurant & Bar Joinery Fit-Out | Riccarton Lonestar
We designed and manufactured the joinery for this hospitality venue, including 65 metres of custom banquette and booth seating, three service stations, a dedicated maitre'd station, and a striking curved bar featuring pressed tin architectural details. Coordinating each joinery element across the dining room and bar allowed us to create distinct functional zones while maintaining visual continuity through unified material palettes and finishes.

The Brief
Riccarton Lonestar required a comprehensive joinery package that balanced hospitality requirements with distinctive architectural character. The project demanded extensive custom seating solutions, 65 metres of banquette runs with varied configurations, alongside food and beverage service joinery including waiter stations, a full bar, and back-bar display.
The brief prioritised function and durability without compromising visual impact. Pressed tin panel fronts became the signature design feature, giving the bar a distinctive character, while ash timber and leather upholstery elevated the seating joinery to premium hospitality standards.

Our Approach
Gill Joinery managed the full design-to-manufacture workflow, producing detailed shop drawings for all joinery components. We manufactured bespoke seating frames, bar joinery, and service cabinetry in our Bromley workshop, then coordinated a phased installation to ensure the space remained functional throughout the fit-out process. Each zone, dining, bar, back-bar, and service, was sequenced to minimise disruption.
What We Built
- Maitre d' station: black LPL cabinetry with pressed tin panels and stained timber top
- 65 metres of banquette seating: ash timber frames, leather-upholstered backs with vertical fluting detail, selected leather seats, burnished steel toe kicks
- Multiple booth configurations: modular seating with timber screens and capping
- Three service stations: waiter stations with louvre doors and adjustable shelving; shelving with timber shelves and LED downlighting
- Main bar: curved ash timber top with Normandy bead profile, removable pressed tin panels, rolled vinyl work surface, burnished steel footrest
- Back bar: glass refrigeration unit with adjustable ash timber shelving, mirror backing, integrated LED strip lighting
- Secondary bar joinery: curved front with pressed tin panels, matching timber details and finishes
The Outcome
A 65-metre run of hospitality joinery where seating, bar, and service areas feel architecturally integrated rather than assembled. The pressed tin panel fronts give the bar immediate visual presence and character, while premium upholstery and ash timber throughout elevate the seating joinery. Each joinery zone functions independently while contributing to a unified aesthetic that reinforces Lonestar's premium positioning.
